God Dreams: Brave Cities
Your City is a God Dream.
Breakout Session 1 | Hugh Halter | Chapel

A brave city consists of gospel-inspired business development, justice works, and neighborhood transformation. This breakout will inspire and equip the people of God to engage in benevolent business that creates jobs and helps our cities, live incarnationally in a neighborhood, and do justice (Micah 6:8).

Brave… because these cities are forged by those that choose the narrow way over the broad way.

City… because we think Jesus envisioned and built his kingdom like a city within the cities we all live in.

Let’s build a Kingdom Ecosystem together.

God Dreams: From Her Perspective
Women are God Dreams.
Breakout Session 1 | Lisa Crabbs, Hannah Crabbs, Serena Draper Hendershot, Gabby Ater, Andrea Ramsey | JC Dining Hall

Most Christian spaces have been dominated by men and the male perspective throughout history. In fact, the vast majority of church theology, dogma, literature, traditions, and norms come from the male imagination and experience. But, men and women often have different ways of interpreting and experiencing family, ministry, work, and life. This breakout is dedicated to her perspective because it matters and needs to be centered and valued. Hear from women from all different walks of life who have been engaged in the works of love at home, in the streets, in business, in the nonprofit world; as single ladies, as wives, as mothers, as friends. This one is for the ladies only – sorry (not sorry) fellas.
God Dreams: Doing Justice as a Family
Healthy families doing justice for the long haul is a God Dream.
Breakout Session 2 | Stan Frankart, Jess & Cody Swiger, Hugh Halter, DaQuavion and Stephanie Roston, Stacy & Kemp Boyd | JC Dining Hall

Families have always been a centerpiece of God’s dream. There’s nothing more wonderful than when a family shares a vision and purpose for their shared life, but this isn’t always the case. Even when it is, there’s no simple formula for how to live a life full of generosity, hospitality, neighborliness, and Christian virtue. You kind of just have to figure it out in real time. But, you don’t have to figure it out alone. This breakout will be a space of joy, lament, and growth as we hear from families who have been doing justice – their successes, their failures, and their wisdom. If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together – as a family
God Dreams: Spiritual Disciplines
Spiritual well-being and longevity are God Dreams.
Breakout Session 2 | Amy & JR Rozko | Chapel

Spiritual disciplines have been a mainstay of religious life and vitality since the birth of all faith traditions. They are the vehicle of our growth and spiritual wellness (grace is the fuel), which is a key element of our overall wellness (also a product of grace). If we want to keep going we have to have the spiritual fortitude to run the race of genuine, loving neighborliness through daily spiritual practices that bring life and strength, that tame the ego, that grow our self-awareness, that grow our sensitivity to awe and wonder, that help us suffer well, that help us love well -- that help us love like Jesus loves. You may be tired of reading your Bible and traditional prayer -- take heart -- there is a well of spiritual disciplines we can draw from and practice together for our good and the good of neighbor.
